Welcome and thank you for visiting the Transformational Writing Center. The use of Journal writing, poetry, and creative expression in a safe, supportive, and relaxed learning environment is known to aid in personal growth, expression of emotions such as grief and loss, and provides an outlet for giving voice to what is important in one's life. It is my sincere hope that you will enjoy and experience personal growth and insight when you participate in the writing groups and classes we offer here at the Transformational Writing Center. Within these web pages, in addition to our group and workshop offerings, we provide links to the world of writing and healing research, training opportunities, and information about other writing organizations and activities around the country. Feel free to browse around and let us know if you have any questions. We hope you will come by again soon. Debra Thornley, M.A., CPT |

Testimonials
|
"Debra's Write Through the Middle group identified many of the issues we face in middle age and offered a profound and effective way of addressing them through journal writing. My heart sang with joy as I realized that I am not alone in these challenges, and I felt so at home with the discussions and sharing of ideas." -- Anna Marie Bangs Author, The Spider in My Sink |

"Each time I take a class with Debra, I learn something new about writing, about myself as a writer, and have an opportunity to connect with other writers. She has a low-key way of encouraging and supporting your creative expression. Thanks to Debra, I have recaptured the excitement of poetry and re-established writing as an important part of my daily life and personal growth." -- Sandra Crews, M.S.Ed. Director of Special Education Services, Southern Oregon |
